Svanehøj launches control system for cargo offloading

Danish pump producer Svanehøj has launched its newly developed environmentally pleasant Flow Control system, which automates the control of electric cargo pumps on tankers.
The launch of the newly developed software-based management system follows a successful test in collaboration with the Swedish shipping company Furetank on the P&C tanker Fure Ven. The 18,000 DWT vessel was inbuilt 2019 as considered one of Furetank’s V-Series, a model new generation of climate-smart P&C tankers.
Svanehøj’s system makes it sooner, simpler, and more efficient to operate electrical cargo pumps. It ensures an optimal changeover between tanks and pumps in parallel, lowering the time wanted for cargo discharge by as a lot as 20% as a outcome of the system will mechanically operate on the optimum responsibility point. It permits the operator to take full management of the pumps, simplifying the complete cargo discharge operation without installing any further hardware.
Fure Ven is among the first vessels at Furetank to have electric cargo pumps installed. pressure gauge น้ำมัน has recorded a 25% discount in energy and gas consumption in relation to cargo discharge operations compared to vessels within the fleet which have hydraulic pumps.
